It is Supposed to be Hard

And you can’t do anything about it.

Some time ago, I stumbled upon the idea of deep work.

It was a simple procedure of spending 4–6 hours daily working on important tasks. And then six months later you are earning more money than you can spend.

Sounds simple, however, as I have discovered by experience. It is not easy.

I have mornings I wake up on time, pumped up for work. And I also have mornings (more than I want to count or remember) when I wake up and don’t want to work, and I just manage to get the basic tasks done.

It is possible I’m just lazy and unmotivated.

But it is also possible that it is meant to be hard. The only problem is that I mistook simple for easy.

Things are meant to be hard because the value is not in the prize but in who you become while chasing the prize.

This is true, whether you are starting a business, eating healthy, or getting promoted at work.

So next time you are frustrated something is not going your way. Remember, it is supposed to be hard.
